Damaged brick replacement in Woking

Spalled, blown, cracked or frost-damaged bricks spoil the look of your home and can let water into the wall behind. BrickFix replaces damaged bricks across Woking, West Byfleet, Pyrford and surrounding villages — including the small jobs other builders may be reluctant to take on.

What we replace

Common brick damage we repair.

Spalled or blown faces

Where the face of the brick has popped off, usually from frost acting on moisture in the brick. The damaged brick is cut out and replaced.

Cracked or broken bricks

Impact damage, drilled fixings and settlement cracks leave bricks that no longer protect the wall. Individual bricks are replaced rather than patched.

Frost-damaged brickwork

Walls exposed to driving weather often show scattered frost damage. We replace the worst affected bricks and repoint surrounding joints where needed.

Damaged bricks around openings

Bricks damaged around windows, doors, pipes and vents are replaced and the area made good, with materials matched as closely as possible.

Stained or mismatched bricks

Where a previous poor repair stands out, we can replace the mismatched bricks with a closer match to the surrounding brickwork.

Loose bricks

Loose or rocking bricks are removed, the bed cleaned out, and the brick rebedded or replaced on fresh mortar.

A tidy finish

Matching your existing brickwork.

A replacement brick should blend in, not stand out. We source bricks that match your existing wall in size, colour and texture as closely as possible, and use a mortar and joint finish that complements the surrounding brickwork.

We'll always be straight with you: weathering and brick availability mean a perfect visual match can't always be achieved. Where that's the case, we'll show you what to expect before any work is agreed.

Scope & limitations

What we take on — and don't.

  • Accessible, non-structural brick replacement is the focus of this service.
  • Structural repairs, chimneys, retaining walls and work at height are example of work we would not typically undertake.
  • Cracking or movement that suggests a structural cause needs assessment first — we'll explain rather than offer an unsuitable repair.
  • Most jobs we take on are completed in 1–2 days, subject to assessment of the individual repair.
No surprises

What affects the cost.

Every repair is quoted individually in writing before work is booked. The things that most affect the price of a brick replacement are:

  • How many bricks need replacing
  • Access to the damaged area
  • The type of brick and how easy it is to source a close match
  • The condition of the surrounding mortar joints
From enquiry to a clear plan

Getting started is simple.

1

Describe the repair

Share your postcode, what needs attention and a rough idea of the size. Photos help when we discuss the job.

2

Agree the details

We discuss suitability, access and materials. If a visit is needed, we agree a time and turn up. We also agree when you’ll receive your written quote.

3

Book the work

Once the scope and price are agreed, we arrange a suitable date and explain what to expect.

A few useful answers

Damaged brick questions.

Can you replace just one or two bricks?

Yes — small repairs are the focus of this service. A single spalled or cracked brick is a normal enquiry, not a job that's too small.

Will the new brick match my existing wall?

We match size, colour and texture as closely as possible and discuss the expected match beforehand. Weathering and brick availability mean a perfect visual match cannot always be achieved, and we'll be honest about that before any work is agreed.

What causes bricks to spall or blow?

Frost damage to moisture in the brick face is the most common cause, along with impact damage and, occasionally, salts in the brickwork. We'll look at the likely cause when assessing the repair so the same problem is less likely to return.

How long does a brick replacement take?

Most small brick replacements we take on are completed in 1–2 days, subject to assessment of the individual job — the number of bricks, access and mortar condition all affect the time needed.

Is there anything you don't take on?

Structural repairs, chimneys, work at height and retaining walls are outside the initial service. If your brickwork shows movement or cracking that suggests a structural cause, we'll say so and explain what kind of specialist to approach.
